We’ve got some exciting news to share: Jam Coding is going international! After years of delivering thousands of hours of coding and computing workshops in UK schools, we’re heading to Malaysia to launch a brand new programme of workshops for schools and families.
From October, our team will be at BETT Asia in Kuala Lumpur (1st–2nd October 2025) to showcase what we do best: helping children gain confidence with coding, AI, digital safety, and other life-changing tech skills.
Why Malaysia?
Malaysia is a country buzzing with energy and ambition, and education is right at the heart of its plans for the future. The 13th Malaysia Plan focuses heavily on digitalisation and preparing young people for a fast-changing, tech-driven world. That fits perfectly with Jam Coding’s mission – giving children the tools to thrive in the digital age.
As our CEO Roger Grogan explains:
“We see Malaysia as a key partner in the next phase of Jam Coding’s growth. This expansion is important not only because we believe every child deserves access to high-quality computing and digital education, but because what we are doing is very much in line with the 13th Malaysia Plan: equipping young people with AI, digital, and coding skills so Malaysia can build a resilient, inclusive, high-value economy.”
Leading the Way in Malaysia
We’re thrilled that Meredith Lee and Wing Mer Liong will be heading up our operations in Malaysia. Wing and Meredith brings a passion for education and believes deeply in empowering young people through digital skills.
“I am excited to lead the operations in Malaysia,” Wing says. “Our workshops will give children vital life-skills in AI, coding, cybersecurity and more – not just to prepare them for the future workplace, but to empower them as digital citizens. We also want to support parents and schools, so that the learning continues beyond the workshop room.”
The Digital Pioneer Schools Programme
At the heart of our Malaysian journey is the Digital Pioneer Schools programme. This is a brand new initiative where schools can work closely with us to bring world-class computing education directly into classrooms.
Schools that join the programme will get:

What’s Next?
The big kick-off comes this October at BETT Asia, but that’s just the beginning. From late 2025, we’ll be enrolling schools into the Digital Pioneer Schools programme and starting to deliver workshops across Malaysia.
We couldn’t be more excited to see how this next chapter unfolds. After all, the future is digital – and together, we can make sure every child has the chance to shape it.
